LAB. is chocolate re-engineered. A uniquely crafted Turkish brand, driven by the pursuit of the perfect formula that is both delicious and health-conscious, available globally as part of Unilever's Made Local campaign.

THE CONCEPT

For this project, I developed the concept “Chocolate, re-engineered,” inspired by the founder’s background in chemical engineering and her experimental approach to perfecting the chocolate-making process. Drawing from clinical and pharmaceutical aesthetics, I crafted the brand name, tone of voice, and packaging design. Through careful use of space, hierarchy, and tension, the packaging achieves a clean, clinical look—offering a sharp contrast to the warmth and saturation common in the chocolate market.

To create a distinctive visual language, I explored the scientific side of food chemistry. My research into atomic structures and processes like liquid chromatography—used to separate and identify compounds—inspired a spectrum of colours representing individual elements. This concept became a central motif across the identity.

The final artwork was created using alcohol inks, water, and blending card, resulting in expressive, organic visuals that reflect a spirit of curiosity and experimentation. Through this ink-based approach, I aimed to capture the intersection of science and creativity, where precision meets play. The outcome is a bold and vibrant identity paired with minimalist packaging—a combination that sets the brand apart in a saturated market.
